Thom Sumbler - WRITTEN ON MY FACE
Thom Sumbler has no spare time, but somehow between building new companies, merging large and small companies and accumulating enough frequent flyer miles to take forty of his closest friends to lunch in Paris, he found time to record his debut album WRITTEN ON MY FACE.

The album, produced by Bob Tyler, features the backing of The Colorado Wrecking Crew, which consists of Tyler, John Magnie, Steve Amedee, Rich Moore and Jeremy Lawton. The result is a skillfully produced collection of songs that take you on the road.
Influenced by Gordon Lightfoot and James Taylor, Thom’s songs have a late night attitude. On "The Bottle’s Getting Low" you can almost taste those last few drops. Thom’s writing gives his listeners insight into what life on the road may be like. Jet planes, hotel rooms and relationships that fade away because of the distance between them.
Thom grew up in Detroit, Michigan. He started his career in telecommunications in 1976 eventually co-architecting two successful, high-tech start up companies. "I’m not happy unless I’m building something," says Thom. "Writing music and lyrics is incredibly different than building a company, but it feels totally natural. It’s the other side of me."
What kind of an experience has it been to reveal this other side to the people in your business life? "It feels like being emotionally naked." Reflects Thom; "it is both scary and liberating. I’ve always believed that whether you are selling, organizing, or creating strategies for a company, it is important to connect work with creativity. We all have more insight into each other as people when our vulnerabilities show a bit. I guess that’s what makes life interesting."
With the release of "WRITTEN ON MY FACE" and Thom’s focus on performing and writing, things are definitely getting more interesting.
